ERC takes part in high-level meeting on AVMSD

The President of ERC, Helena Sousa, took part, on September 2nd, in the High Level Round Table organised by the European Commission on the Audiovisual Media Services Directive (AVMSD) 

This roundtable discussed media market players’ and regulators’ perception on how the current Audiovisual Media Services Directive has contributed to a healthy audiovisual media market across the EU, in view of preparing the upcoming evaluation of the current AVMSD that the Commission will need to carry out in the upcoming mandate (foreseen by 2026 at the latest). The roundtable focused on the level playing field and fairness in the digital media ecosystem and the effectiveness of the AVMSD mechanisms to promote European productions.
