Pedro Correia Gonçalves
Pedro Correia Gonçalves received a law degree and a master’s degree in Corporate Criminal Law from the Law School of the Portuguese Catholic University. He teaches Criminal Law in master’s and doctoral degrees (in the field of economic criminal law) at the Portuguese Catholic University.
He lectures at the Higher Institute of Police Sciences and Internal Security. He taught at the Law School of the University of Lisbon and other higher education institutions.
Pedro Correia Gonçalves served as Chief of Staff of the Assistant Secretary of State for Administrative Modernisation of the 20th Constitutional Government and of the Secretary of State for Regional Development of the 19th Constitutional Government. He also served as Assistant and substitute Chief of Staff of the Assistant Secretary of State to the Home Affairs Minister (19th Constitutional Government).
He was also Advisor to the Legal Policy Department and to the International Relations Office of the Directorate-General for Justice Policy of the Ministry of Justice.
Pedro Correia Gonçalves advised the law firm Branco & Associados – Sociedade de Advogados and was Assistant to the Parliamentary Group of the Social Democratic Party.
Between 2018 and 2023 he exercised the duties of ERC’s Executive Director. Since 7 November 2023, Pedro Correia Gonçalves serves as ERC’s Vice-chairman.
He is the author of several legal articles and monographs.
